New Delhi, July 18 (IANS) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday accused the BJP of not following rules in the capital's civic bodies.
Abdul Rehman, Leader of the Opposition in the East Delhi Municipal Corporation, told the media that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) passed a Bill in the House on Monday without giving a prior notice to Councillors.
The AAP leader said Councillors should be told about the introduction of a Bill at least 72 hours earlier as per rules.
"Just two minutes before introducing the Bill in the House, they (BJP) gave a representation to all the Councillors," he said.
The Leader of the Opposition in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Ramesh Matiala, also voiced similar views.
"If the BJP does not stop this drama, the AAP will have to take up the issue in the House and even protest on the streets," he added.
