Two more airlines may operate on remote routes from September

New Delhi, July 12 (IANS) The government's ambitious air regional connectivity scheme RCS-Udan is set to get a boost with two more airlines -- Air Odisha and Air Deccan -- expected to start operations on remote routes.

According to a Civil Aviation Ministry official, Air Odisha and Air Deccan are expected to start their operations by September-end.

In March 2017, five airlines including Air Odisha, Air Deccan, SpicetJet, Alliance Air and TruJet were selected to operate a total of 128 routes connecting 65 destinations and 45 RCS airports under first phase of the scheme.

Currently, SpicetJet, Alliance Air and TruJet operate flights under RCS-Udan.
