Lucknow, June 27 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday completed 100 days in office and said that a lot of work has been done on improving roads, strengthening infrastructure, bettering law and order and providing better healthcare.
Addressing reporters in the state capital, the Chief Minister claimed the power scenario had improved in the state, safety for women was much better than previously, roads were being made pot-hole free and that the state was on the path of long due prosperity and development.
Adityanath work has been done in creating more jobs, ensuring better facilities to the farmer among other things.
He thanked the people of the state for "reposing faith in the policies of BJP under its president Amit Shah and the good governance given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and handing them a historic mandate in Uttar Pradesh".
Surrounded by ministers, mostly dressed in orange, the Chief Minister said that people of the state were hopeful that things have begun changing and that women were now more safe than in the past. He detailed many welfare schemes and development works rolled out by his government in the past 100 days for the people.
"Hundred days is a small time span and with limited resources in a big state like UP it is even more a bigger challenge, but we have accepted it and I am happy to report that we are on the right course," he said.
Remembering party ideologue Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya, the Chief Minister said it was heartening that his 'janm' and 'karmbhoomi' was Uttar Pradesh and that a Bharatiya Janata Party government came to power while his centenary celebrations are underway.
"We are following the 'Lok Sankalp Patra-2017' (BJP's election manifesto for assembly polls in 2017) and we are fulfilling the promises made in it," he said while pointing out how previous governments had "plundered" the state coffers and "presided over anarchy".
"Our guiding force remains Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and good governance is a priority," the 45-year-old monk-turned-politician said.
He announced that the Lucknow Metro, which was initiated during the previous regime, would begin operations soon.
He said welfare of the farmers was a top priority for the state government and a lot of things were being done in this direction. "Availability of seeds and fertilizers on time, getting good price for their harvest, improved wheat procurement, clearing of arrears due on sugar mills in favour of cane growers, better market for potato growers are some of the things we have initiated and ensured," Adityanath said.
A booklet - compilation of the announcements made and decisions taken during the past 100 days - was also released on the occasion.
