Fiorentina owners put club up for sale after complaints from fansRome, June 27 (IANS) The owners of Fiorentina put the Italian football club up for sale after criticism from the team's fans, according to an official statement.

In a statement the owners, brothers Diego and Andrea Della Valle, said that due to dissatisfaction from fans the club is available to anyone who wants to buy and manage it, reports Efe.

Diego and Andrea Della Valle, famous for having two well-known fashion brands, stated that they will take into consideration only offers that come from people who are emotionally attached to the team, in addition to having the necessary economic requirements.

The Della Valle family acquired the Tuscan club in 2002 and guided the team to Serie A and the group stage of the Champions League in 2007/08 and 2008/09.

During their fifteen-year presidency, the Della Valle brothers were also involved in a sports fraud scandal in 2006.

In recent years, the owners of Fiorentina have received harsh criticism from fans, who are disappointed with the lack of economic investment in the club.
