London, June 22 (IANS) Goalkeeper Matz Sels has joined Anderlecht on a season-long loan, Newcastle United football club announced on Thursday.
The club confirmed through a statement on its website. Sels started as Rafa Benitez's first-choice keeper but was replaced by Karl Darlow in September, reports Efe.
The 25-year-old joined the Magpies from Gent and only played nine times in the league as they were promoted from the Championship.
In all, the player only wore the Magpies jersey nine times in the Championship, three in the Football Association (FA) Cup and two in the English Football League (EFL) Cup.
