New Delhi, June 18 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed sadness over the loss of lives in a forest fire in Portugal.
"Sad to learn of tragic loss of lives in the forest fire in Portugal. Deepest condolences to the Portuguese people on this tragedy," tweeted Modi, who is slated to visit the European country on June 24.
An out-of-control forest fire in central Portugal has killed at least 58 people and injured 54, according to updated figures provided on Sunday by the Portuguese government.
