Explosives seized in Jharkhand

Ranchi, June 16 (IANS) A large cache of explosives was recovered from a Maoist hideout in Jharkhand's Khunti district on Friday, police said.

The explosives, found in a forested area during a joint search operation of the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force, included 109 gelatin sticks, 66 detonators, one kg gun powder and six kg of iron splinters.

Maoists use the explosives in land mines to target security forces vehicles.
