Mumbai, June 7 (IANS) Art lovers can enjoy unique paintings and prints by Norwegian artist Lene Makwana soon at an upcoming exhibition here.
Makwana's works mainly consist of watercolour paintings and digital collages ranging from figurative motifs to abstract forms but key is the contrasting starkness of the human form and its rich contours juxtaposed with sharp-edged uncompromising geometrical elements.
This contrast sets off her works into the realm of a distinct balancing act, where the line - straight or contoured - becomes a marker of precision, poise and purpose.
Apart from the actual architectural references, the works delve into a background of femininity with female torsos and heads playing a significant motif in her works.
"This will be a solid launch platform to interact with the audience, co-participants and the artists," Makwana said in a statement on Wednesday.
"I look forward to get to know more about contemporary Indian art, to seek collaboration beyond the fair and to see the response of my art," she said.
Her works will be on view in The Art Enclave at Index Fairs 2017, to be held at Bombay Exhibition Centre from June 8 to 11.
