New Delhi, June 4 (IANS) Continuing its probe into terror funding by Pakistan-based groups to stoke unrest in the Kashmir Valley, the NIA on Sunday conducted fresh raids across seven locations in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir and seized several incriminating documents and foreign currency.
"NIA took up fresh searches at seven more locations belonging to secessionist and separatist elements and traders suspected of hawala activities and terror funding in in Jammu and Kashmir," the agency said.
Searches were counteracted in Srinagar, Jammu and Haryana's Gurugram.
"During the searches, several bank accounts have been detected. Pakistani currency (amounting to a few thousand rupees) and currencie sof the UAE and Saudi Arabia have been found and seized apart from other incriminating material like correspondence with jailed troublemakers, suspicious transactions and mobile phones," it said.
Prominent among those raided by the NIA are Tariq Ahmed Khan, ex-President of the LOC Traders Association, Farooq Baggu and Kamal alias Bittu of Jammu, the agency said, adding another house of Zahoor Watali at Gurugram was also searched.
"The concerned are being questioned about the same. Further investigation is continuing," it added.
The agency on Saturday conducted multiple raids across Srinagar, Delhi and Haryana and seized over Rs 1 crore in cash, letterheads of banned terrorist groups like LeT and incriminating documents.
