ACB questions Central Procurement Agency officials in medical scam
New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Delhi's Anti-Corruption Branch on Friday questioned officials of the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) in connection with the reported medical scam of Rs 300 crore, as alleged by sacked Water Minister Kapil Mishra.

The ACB move comes in the wake of a complaint by Mishra, who alleged that the Delhi government had purchased medicines in bulk and many medicines were brought past their expiry dates.

"ACB teams on Thursday raided three CPA warehouses and seized some documents pertaining to procurement of medicines. We are questioning officials concerned," a senior ACB officer told IANS.

Mishra alleged that even though the Health Department purchased medicines for Rs 300 crore, government hospital pharmacies were facing shortages since the medicines are lying unused in warehouses.

Mishra alleged that ambulances were purchased at Rs 23 lakh each which a company was ready to deliver at Rs 8 lakh each.
