Gurugram, June 1 (IANS) Three persons have been arrested and 402 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 40 lakh has been seized from a farmhouse here, police said on Thursday.
The three men were identified as Sanjay Kumar, Aameen and Iqbal. Police said Kumar and Aameen belonged to Alwar in Rajasthan while Iqbal was from Nuh in Haryana.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sumit Kuhar said the arrests were made by the Crime Branch.
Kuhar said: "Acting on a tip, a team raided Uppal farmhouse on the Delhi-Jaipur-Mumbai highway here. They found that bags carrying cannabis were being loaded into a Maruti Swift car from a truck."
He said the consignment was being smuggled from Odisha to Rajasthan. The main supplier, Mahesh Aggarwal, is yet to be arrested.
The truck and the car have also been seized.
