New Delhi, May 19 (IANS) Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Chairman S. Christopher has been given a one-year extension of his term, days before his retirement slated for May 29.
Christopher was appointed chief of the premier defence research agency for two years in May 2015 by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. He took charge on May 29, 2015.
He was heading the Bengaluru-based Centre for Airborne Systems and a project to develop an airborne early warning and control system before his appointment as the DRDO chief.
Holding and Electronics and Communication Engineering degree from the University of Madras, Christopher has done M.Tech. in Microwaves and Radar Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
