New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) The capital residents continued to reel under hot weather conditions on Sunday with the average maximum temperature settling at 43.4 degrees Celsius, four notches above the average, the IMD said. Monday is likely to see similar weather.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) station at Aya Nagar in south Delhi recorded the highest temperature at 45.2 degrees.
Monday is also forecast to witness heat waves with the maximum hovering around 43 degrees and the minimum around 29 degrees Celsius. The sky is expected to be partly cloudy but there are no chances of rainfall.
The minimum temperature on Sunday was 27.8 degrees, three notches above the season's average, the weather department said, while the sky remained mainly clear throughout the day and the humidity levels oscillated between 18 to 53 per cent.
