Kolkata, May 8 (IANS) West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi is stable after a minor surgery to stop nose bleeding, doctors treating him said on Monday.

Tripathi, 82, was admitted to the Belle Vue Clinic in south Kolkata on Sunday morning after he bled from the nose. He underwent the surgery soon after.

"The bleeding was from an artery in the nose, which stopped after surgery. He is now haemodynamically stable. There is no active bleeding," the nursing home said.

He is under observation by a team of physicians, ENT surgeons, anaesthesiologist and an urologist.

The Governor has hypertension and diabetes, along with coronary artery disease, and is on aspirin that causes blood thinning and increases bleeding tendency, the bulletin said.
