New Delhi, May 3 (IANS) A minor fire broke out on Wednesday in the North Block, which houses the Union Home and Finance Ministries, but was soon controlled, a fire officer said. There were no casualties.
The blaze, caused by a short circuit in an underground cable, also led to power supply being cut of the building for around 50 minutes.
The fire broke out near gate no 8 of North Block at 2.55 p.m., said the officer, adding four fire tenders were rushed to spot and extinguished the blaze within 10- 15 minutes.
