New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) A court here on Tuesday ordered Delhi Police to lodge a first information report and investigate allegations against Ansal Hi Tech Townships Limited over the delay in its plan to develop a township in Greater Noida.
Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma ordered the Delhi Police to register an FIR, investigate the matter and submit a compliance report by May 6.
The court order came on a complaint made by 14 persons, who accused the company and its officials of cheating and duping them of their money.
The order was announced last week but was released on Tuesday.
The complainants said that accused Ansal Hi Tech Townships, one of the subsidiary companies of Ansal API Top Real Estate Developer, came out with a plan to develop a township spread over 2,504 acre "Sushant Magapolis" - a green hi-tech township - adjoining Greater Noida in 2008.
Believing the representations and assurances of the company, the complainants booked plots.
They alleged that they have invested millions of rupees but there was no sign of development at the site.
"Presently farmers are using the land shown to us as agricultural land," the complaints alleged.
