Haryana releases Rs 50 lakh to family of Sukma martyr

Chandigarh, April 26 (IANS) The Haryana government on Wednesday released Rs 50 lakh as financial assistance to the family of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Assistant Sub-Inspector Naresh Kumar, who was killed in an ambush by Maoists in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Monday.

Kumar, a resident of Jainpur Tikaula village in Sonipat district, was killed in the attack along with 24 other CRPF troopers.

Sonipat Deputy Commissioner Makarand P. Khetmalis said the grant was issued under the Haryana government's welfare scheme to provide ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh, including Rs 25 lakh to the parents and Rs 25 lakh to the widow of martyrs.
