New Delhi, April 26 (IANS) The Congress on Wednesday said that the country must come first in the battle of "ideologies" and all the regional parties should now realise that blind "anti-Congressism" is not the way ahead.
"Congrats to BJP for winning (Delhi) MCD (polls). Thanks to Congress workers for increasing the vote share from 9.6 per cent to 20 per cent. Will work hard for a new narrative," Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said in a tweet.
"Hope all regional parties will now realise that blind anti-Congressism is not the way. Country must come first in battle of ideologies," Surjewala added.
The Congress leader also said that he hoped "The BJP will now work for a clean, disease-free, corruption-free, development-driven Delhi, unlike in the past 10 years of its MCD rule."
The Congress leader's remarks came as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was headed for a clean sweep of the three municipal corporations in Delhi.
