East Bengal defender complains of chest pain

Kolkata, April 25 (IANS) East Bengal defender and former India international Anwar Ali complained of chest pain after training on Tuesday and was admitted to a hospital where he is stable, a spokesperson said.

"He complained of uneasiness after training and felt unwell. We immediately took him to a hospital where an angiogram was carried out," an East Bengal official told IANS.

A hospital spokesperson said: "He came here with a problem and is stable now. He will be under observation."

East Bengal are third in the I-League points table and have one last match to play in the league against relegated Mumbai FC on Saturday.
