40 shops, security force camp gutted in Doda fire

Jammu, April 20 (IANS) At least forty shops, a camp office of security forces and many structures were destroyed in a devastating blaze in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Thursday.

"40 shops, three government buildings, a residential house and a camp office of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) were destroyed in a fire in Bhalessa area of Doda," an official said.

Fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames, he added.

"No loss of life occurred during the massive fire although property worth millions has been destroyed in this incident."

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
