Chandigarh, April 17 (IANS) Haryana was in midst of heat wave conditions on Monday with Narnaul town sizzling at 45 degrees while Hisar town saw a high of 44 degrees Celsius.
While Narnaul was seven degrees above average, Hisar was six degrees above average.
Heat wave conditions prevailed over most parts of Haryana and some parts of Punjab on Monday.
The maximum temperatures were five to eight degrees above average and above the 40 degree Celsius mark at several places, Met department officials said here.
Amritsar city in Punjab recorded a high of 42.7 degrees, eight degrees above average. Patiala and Ludhiana in Punjab were at 40.6 and 40.9 degrees, respectively.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 39 degrees while Ambala in Haryana saw a high of 39.3 degrees.
Met department officials said heat wave conditions would prevail over the region in the coming days.
