Patna, April 14 (IANS) Hitting back at BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi who had made a series of allegations against its leaders, Bihar's ruling alliance partner RJD on Friday accused him of having 'benami' (proxy) property himself.
Following attacks by Modi against Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad, his two sons -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav and state Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav -- and his daughters, the RJD accused the former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister of making false and baseless allegations against others.
RJD state President Ramchandra Purve and party spokesperson Manoj Jha dared Modi to a debate on the issue. "We challenge Modi to come and debate anywhere instead of charging others with cooked and baseless allegations," said Jha.
He said: "Modi should explain who is owner of a big building at Rajendranagar in Patna and property in Gurgaon and who is owner of Saftick company."
Former Deputy Chief Minister Modi had last week alleged involvement of Lalu Prasad's sons in a soil purchase scam and claimed the family had become owners of a prime piece of land in Patna earlier owned by AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd and was now worth crores of rupees.
