The NDMP, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June last year.
"The workshop on the review of the National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP) concluded here today on a high note with fruitful discussions and inputs from all stakeholders," said a release from Ministry of Home Affairs.
The plan is open to periodic reviews and the NDMA had sought suggestions from state governments and ministries of the Central government.
During the workshop, presentations were made by the ministries suggesting ways to improve the plan and discussed how to integrate Prime Minister's 10-point agenda on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) into the national plan.
In his 10-point agenda, Modi had asked for investment in risk mapping for hazards like earthquakes and development sectors should include disaster risk management.
He asked for better utilization of social media, local capacity building, involvement of universities and risk coverage for poor households to Small industry to multi-national corporations to nation states.
He also asked for greater involvement and leadership of women in disaster risk management.
The two-day workshop was organised by the NDMA, which is the apex body for the disaster management in the country headed by the Prime Minister.
The NDMP was introduced with an aim to make India disaster resilient and it took into account the global trends in disaster management.
