New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) Indian Navy Chief Sunil Lanba on Tuesday left on a goodwill visit to Malaysia to consolidate and enhance bilateral defence and maritime relations, a defence statement said.
During his visit which will go on till April 15, Admiral Lanba would hold discussions with the Deputy Minister of Defence, Chief of Royal Malaysian Defence Forces and chiefs of its army, navy and air force.
He would also visit major naval establishments of the Royal Malaysian Navy including the submarine base.
The Indian and the Royal Malaysian navies cooperate with each other in terms of training, operational interactions as well as interacting at various multilateral forums, the statement said, adding an inaugural field training exercise is also scheduled between both navies in June this year, coinciding with the visit of Indian naval ships to Malaysia.
