Mumbai, April 8 (IANS) Film producer Manish Mundra, whose movies "Dhanak" and "Kadvi Hawa" have been chosen for the National Film Awards, says these projects have received acclaim at international film festivals, but the joy of a government honour is incomparable.
"Dhanak" has been named the Best Children's Film and "Kadvi Hawa" has received a Special Mention.
Mundra, known for backing independent cinema under his banner Drishyam Films, said in a statement: "Even though all of our films have premiered and won awards at various prestigious international film festivals, the National Awards are the biggest honour for us.
"For me, as an Indian producer, there is no greater joy than being recognised by the government for our efforts to produce quality content-driven cinema."
"Dhanak", directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, revolves around a visually challenged little boy and his sister, while "Kadvi Hawa" is an interesting take on climate change.
