New Delhi, April 8 (IANS) Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina headed delegation-level bilateral talks between India and Bangladesh here on Saturday .
"Shaping the future of bilateral ties. PM @narendramodi and PM Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh lead delegation level talks," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay tweeted.
This is the Bangladesh Prime Minister's first bilateral visit to India in seven years. She had last visited in 2010.
Over 20 agreements, including a civil nuclear agreement and two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on defence cooperation, are expected to be signed after Saturday's bilateral talks.
Modi will host a lunch banquet in honour of the visiting dignitary which will also be attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Both Prime Ministers will jointly launch train and bus services between Kolkata and Khulna and a rail link from Radhikapur in north Bengal.
They will also attend a function to honour Indian martyrs in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
