Mumbai, April 8 (IANS) Mumbai FC and Churchill Brothers played out a 0-0 draw in their I-League encounter at the Cooperage Stadium here on Saturday evening.
Both teams got several chances but were let down by some poor finishing.
Churchill are now sixth on the 10-team table with 17 points from 15 matches. Mumbai continue to languish at the bottom and moved closer to relegation with a mere 11 points from 15 games.
Mumbai fielded a 4-2-3-1 formation that was successful in keeping Churchill forwards Anthony Wolfe and Ansumana Kromah at bay.
The visitors used the long ball approach with regular crosses in their opponents' penalty box and the Mumbai defence spearheaded by experienced central defender Mehrajuddin Wadoo had to battle hard to counter the threat posed by Wolfe and Kromah.
Churchill dominated most of the opening half and Mumbai's best chance before half-time came in the 40th minute when Alex Willian's shot hit the crossbar after a free kick into the penalty box by Densill Theobald.
The second half also saw few chances as the teams battled to a goalless draw.
