New Delhi, April 7 (IANS) The Lok Sabha on Friday witnessed noisy scenes over political violence in Kerala as the treasury and opposition benches trained their guns at each other on the issue.
While a BJP member accused the CPI-M cadres of violence in Kerala, the opposition accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-Bharatiya Janata Party combine for the same.
BJP lawmaker Poonam Mahajan, who raised the issue during Zero Hour, demanded that the Kerala government should be dismissed.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar Kumar termed recent killings of RSS and BJP workers in the southern state as "political murder" and said his party, the BJP, will not tolerate such acts of violence.
Mahajan, who heads the BJP's youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, accused activists of the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist of violence.
She asked Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to lead a group of MPs to the state to assess the situation.
The BJP MP was countered by members of the Left and the Congress. Congress lawmaker K.C. Venugopal said the RSS was behind the political murders.
CPI-M member M.B. Rajesh also blamed the RSS and BJP supporters for the Kerala violence and accused the Parliamentary Affairs Minister of misleading the house.
