Bhubaneswar, March 26 (IANS) Heatwave condition prevailed in Odisha with eight places recording above 40 degree Celsius on Sunday.
The western Odisha town of Titlagarh recorded the maximum temperature of 43 degrees followed by Bolangir at 41 degrees and Hirakud at 40.8 degree Celsius. Capital city Bhubaneswar registered 34.4 degree Celsius, said the regional met centre.
With heat wave condition prevailing across the state, the state government has ordered morning classes in all schools across the state from April 1.
No school in the state will remain open after 10.30 a.m. while mid-day meals will be served in government schools at 10 a.m., said a notification.
The schools will be closed for summer vacation from May 3, the notification added.
