Famous Indian artists to exhibit works in the capital

New Delhi, March 24 (IANS) Famous Indian artists like Samir Aich, Amrut Patel and Anjan Chakraborty, irrespective of their work experience, are already recognised and have received national acclaim in some form or the other.

These artists are all set to display their works in a group art show, "Many folds", at Natya Tarangini in Pushp Vihar here. The exhibition is on view from March 24 to March 26.

The artists participating in the exhibition, curated by Seema Subbanna, include Yogesh Rawal and Sudha Pillai.

There are also artists working in different mediums like Hirday, Brijesh, Poushali Das, Sangeeta Gupta and Sangeeta Murthy.

This show consists of many forms of creativity like the paintings, prints and sculptures etc and has its main focus on the content.

"We live in a diverse land, with different cultures and various ideologies. The multiplicity of existence is what makes the world distinctive and beautiful. Bringing all of those elements together through a show was my main idea," Subbanna told IANS.

She further added that the many folds in the exhibition are of culture, expressions, mediums, styles and techniques, which are bound together with immense creativity and talent.

"While I have always believed in giving younger and lesser known artists an equal footing to exhibit their works, this time I decided to show works of nationally acclaimed artists," Subbanna said.

"All the works being exhibited are very powerful with highlights of their own. While some are technically unique, there are others that catch ones eye because of the strength of the lines, colour schemes, the aesthetic beauty and textures," she added.

"Several others, who have received acclaim for their work, are a part of this group show. In all we have a total of 23 serious artists participating in this show," she explained.
