New York, March 19 (IANS) Legendary rock-n-roll pioneer Chuck Berry has died at his home in Missouri, US, said police. Berry was 90 years old.
He was known for hit singles like "Johnny B. Goode," "Roll Over Beethoven," and "Sweet Little Sixteen" - 1950s chart-toppers that endure to this day.
St Charles County police said on their Facebook page that they responded to a report of a medical emergency at Berry's home at 12.40 p.m. on Saturday, New York Post reported.
"Inside the home, first responders observed an unresponsive man and immediately administered lifesaving techniques. Unfortunately, the 90-year-old man could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at 1.26 p.m.," the police said.
Police confirmed Berry's identity, and said his family requests privacy.
