Independent artists showcase creativity at Indie Art Week


New Delhi, March 14 (IANS) Six venues across the national capital have turned host to a series of performances -- from eclectic mix of music, films and theatre to photography, visual arts and comedy during the ongoing Indie Art Week (IAW).

Indie Arts Week seeks to create a platform for both discovery and collaborative possibilities for independent artists.

Held over a week, the festival will feature more than 100 artists in seven different showcases namely, IAW Viewing Room (Film Screenings, Optik Lounge (Visuals Gallery), Grey Area (Live Stage), Spotlight (Theatre and Comedy), Drone Den (Sonic Art) and Bargain X (Installations, exhibition and makers market).

"Our features and showcases will take audience through a whirlwind of independent works and we aim to be a destination for discovery. We also aim to promote collaborative presentations, through the festival which is spread over a week across some intriguing spaces here," said Rohan Kulshreshtha, festival curator in a statement.

The festival which is on till March 19 is being held at Summer House Cafe, Bandstand, Khoj Arts Gallery, Dhan Mill Compound Warehouses, Auro and Annagram Architects.
