Mumbai, March 10 (IANS) Filmmaker Shashank Khaitan, who shot to fame with his debut film "Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania", said he would love to make a biopic on 'Showman of Bollywood' Subhash Ghai.
Asked if he ever wants to make a biopic on veteran director Subhash Ghai, in an exclusive interview with the director himself, Shashank said: "Why not! Subhash sir's life is full of stories and experiences. I am sure the day we will sit for a biopic a lot of interesting things will come out."
"I hope that someday I reach a level to justify his biopic. I feel I am still at a learning stage and to tell his story you need to have that similar kind of experience," Shashank, who was also one of the early alumni of Ghai's Whistling Wood Institute, added.
Asked about his choice of actor to portray the "Karz" helmer, Shashank said: "No one. Subhashji can portray himself with prosthetics."
Subhash, who took a hiatus after his last directorial "Kaanchi: The Unbreakable" in 2014, was asked when he will be donning his director's hat again.
"I am happy to sit on the couch and give my blessings to the young filmmakers. They are doing a fantastic job. I have done my work now it's my duty to create good filmmakers for the next generation. It is their time," he replied.
Shashank's latest directorial venture, "Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya", starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in lead roles released in theatres this Friday.
