BJP won’t rule Kerala in near future, says Natesan

Thiruvananthapuram, March 10 (IANS) Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) leader Vellapally Natesan on Friday expressed his displeasure over how the ally Bharatiya Janata Party is treating his outfit and said that the BJP will not rule Kerala in the near future.

"Just look at the state unit of the BJP, they function like a private company. Allies won't stick with the BJP as there is no chance of the BJP ruling Kerala in the near future," Natesan said.

In December 2015, Natesan launched his political party BDJS and soon joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party and became the second biggest constituent in the state of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Even though the BDJS failed to win a single seat in the May 2016 assembly polls, it was expecting favours from the BJP for its state leaders in certain posts in corporations and boards, that are decided by the Centre.

Though Natesan does not hold any post in the BDJS, his son Tushar Vellapalli is the Chairperson of the party and all along the father-son duo was hoping that Tushar would get a suitable post, which has not come his way even after more than a year.

Natesan is also the general secretary of the Hindu Ezhava community in the state and heads the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam.

The Ezhavas constitute a majority of over 50 per cent Hindus of the nearly 3.30-crore population of Kerala.

Natesan's aversion towards state Congress President V.M. Sudheeran, who quit on Friday, is quite well known and he said that with this resignation, good times will come for the Congress.
