Los Angeles, March 8 (IANS) Singer-actress Mandy Moore has joined actor Amandla Stenberg to star in the upcoming dystopian thriller film "Darkest Minds", which will be directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson.
The movie is a film adaptation of "The Darkest Minds" by Alexandra Bracken in which a pandemic kills most of the children and teenagers in US. When some of the survivors develop superpowers, they are imprisoned, reports variety.com.
Stenberg, who starred in "The Hunger Games", will play the role of a 16-year-old with telekinetic powers who escapes her camp and joins a group of teens on the run from the government.
Moore will be seen as a doctor and member of a crusade that wants to put a stop to the persecution of the children.
The movie will go on the floors in mid-March in Atlanta.
