Shimla, March 8 (IANS) Ahead of a long weekend bonanza on account of the Holi festival, tourist resort Manali and Shimla's nearby tourist spots in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday got snow, giving them a picturesque look.
"More snow is in line this week," a Met official said.
The residents of this town shivered as daylong drizzles brought down the minimum temperature to 4.4 degrees Celsius.
According to the local Met office, Manali recorded six cm of snow and 42 mm of rain, while its nearby destination Kothi saw 60 cm of snow, the state's highest.
Shimla recorded three mm of rain, while its nearby spots such as honeymooners' paradise Kufri and Narkanda experienced mild snowfall.
Other picturesque tourist resorts Dharamsala and Palampur in Kangra district and Dalhousie in Chamba district have been experiencing intermittent rainfall.
"High-altitude areas of Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Kullu, Kinnaur, Sirmaur and Shimla districts have been experiencing moderate snow since Tuesday night," the Met official said.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district, which saw 7.6 cm snow, recorded a low of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius while the temperature was minus 0.6 degrees in Manali.
Dharamsala, which recorded 4.4 mm of rainfall, registered a low of 9.6 degrees Celsius.
