Jammu/Srinagar, March 8 (IANS) Fresh snowfall occurred in the higher reaches in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday while rain lashed the plains.
"There has been fresh snowfall in Pahalgam and other places in the higher reaches of the state during the last 24 hours," said a Met department official.
"Erratic weather conditions will continue to affect Jammu and Kashmir during the next two to three days, but there is no chance of bad weather causing any major disruption anywhere during this period," the official added.
Srinagar recorded 5.6 mm of snow, Pahalgam 6.6, Gulmarg 24, Bannihal 24.2, Kargil 1.6 and Leh traces of snow while Jammu received 2 mm of rain, Batote 30.2, Bhaderwah 6.4 mm of rain during the last 24 hours as per the Met office.
The minimum temperature recorded in Srinagar was 3.1 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 0.2 and Gulmarg minus 3 on Wednesday, while it was minus 2.6 degree Celsius in Kargil and minus 6.1 in Leh.
"Jammu city recorded 12.6 degree Celsius, Katra 10.9, Batote 3.7, Bannihal 0.8 and Bhaderwah 2 as the night's lowest temperatures," the official added.
