Mumbai, March 4 (IANS) Documentary "Raising The Bar" has been selected for the Maryland International Film Festival in the US.
Directed by Onir, "Raising The Bar" essays stories of six young individuals with Down Syndrome as it follows them and their stories at the World Down Syndrome Congress in Chennai, India.
The 118-minute documentary is produced by Onir and Sanjay Suri's Anticlock Films, Mitu Bhowmick, the Festival Director of Indian Film Festival Melbourne (IFFM) and Founder of Mind Blowing Films, as well as Cate Sayers of Emotions 21.
The Maryland International Film Festival will take place from March 31 to April 2.
"It is very heartening to see our precious film being selected for and winning awards worldwide. A film is about celebrating diversity," Onir said in a statement.
Bhowmick says "Raising The Bar" is a gift which shares "powerful stories of how refusing to accept traditional constraints allow the potential of every individual to shine through".
