Ujjain, March 4 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh police on Saturday filed a case against RSS leader Kundan Chandrawat, who had announced a Rs 1 crore bounty for beheading Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The head of Madhavnagar Police Station, M.S. Parmar, told IANS on Saturday: "Taking cognisance of the statement of Kundan Chandrawat, police on Friday night filed a case against him under Section 505 (apprehension of breach of peace and fear of communal tension)."
On Friday, Chandrawat was "relieved" of his duties by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh over his statement that has drawn wide condemnation.
"Due to his controversial remarks, a confusion about RSS has been created. So, he has been relieved from his duties," RSS head of the region Prakash Shastri said in a statement.
Chandrawat, RSS Ujjain's Sah Prachar Pramukh (Regional Deputy Publicity Head), had on Wednesday announced a reward of Rs 1 crore to anyone who brought the severed head of the Kerala Chief Minister.
Chandrawat said on Thursday that he made the statement in his personal capacity and not as a RSS member.
