Shanghai SIPG crush Sydney Wanderers 5-1 in AFC Champions League

Shanghai, Feb 28 (IANS) Brazilian football stars Oscar and Hulk both scored as Shanghai SIPG thrashed Western Sydney Wanderers 5-1 in a Group F match of the Asian Champions League on Tuesday.

Hulk, who scored the only goal in SIPG's win at FC Seoul last week, rose above the Wanderers' backline to head home just in the third minute, reports Xinhua news agency.

Not long after, he slipped the ball through a crowded area for Oscar, who joined the Chinese Super League side from Chelsea in January, to shoot into the bottom corner.

Mitch Nichols pulled a goal back for the 2014 champions but before the half-hour Sun Ke and Elkeson made it 4-1. China international Wu Lei completed the rout in the second half.

Shanghai were second in the group on goal difference behind Urawa Reds. The Japanese team defeated FC Seoul 5-2 to add to a 4-0 win over Wanderers.
