New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS) The Appointments Committee of the cabinet on Tuesday selected senior police officer D.R. Doley Barman for the post of Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet approved Barman's appointment to the post for two years," an order from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said.
The order said the appointment has been done by temporarily downgrading the post to the level of Additional Director General, however, the post is usually held by a DG-level officer.
Barman, a 1986-batch Indian Police Service officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, is at present working as Director, North East Police Academy (NEPA), Shillong, in Meghalaya.
She has been appointed in place of Aruna M. Bahuguna, who superannuated on Tuesday.
Barman would also hold the additional charge of the post of Director NEPA till the appointment and joining of its regular Director.
