Pakistan President asks India to resolve Kashmir issue

Islamabad, Feb 25 (IANS) Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain has asked India to resolve the Kashmir issue by bowing before the sentiments of Kashmiri people.

"India should bow before popular public sentiments in held Kashmir in its own interest and end its unlawful occupation of the territory," Hussain said on Friday.

The President said the Indian forces were using "brute tactic to suppress Kashmiris", Dawn online reported.

"The pellet guns meant for hunting wild animals have been used on the innocent and unarmed people of Kash-mir," he said while speaking at a function here in connection with the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

According to the President, rising human rights "violations and repression" in Kashmir were enough to shake global conscience.

Hussain called upon the international community to come forward and help Kashmiris exercise their right to self-determination.
