State associations to meet after CoA’s deadline

Kolkata, Feb 24 (IANS) Running against time to meet the deadline of March 1 for filing a compliance report on the Lodha Committee directives given to them by the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), the state associations are set to have an informal meeting soon on the next course of action, a top BCCI source said.

"The state associations will hold an informal meeting," the functionary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told IANS on Friday.

"The details are yet to be chalked out," he added.

In a letter to all the state associations, the four-member panel assigned to look after the BCCI has stated that it would proceed on a "strict understanding and interpretation" of the Lodha Committee reforms.

The associations, still reeling from reforms like age cap of 70 years and nine-year incumbent period among others, have time till 5 p.m. on March 1 to file their compliance reports.

The letter has laid down measures of good governance and transparency like mentioning the names of the constituent members on its website.

The associations will also have to comply with the Supreme Court orders dated October 7 and 21 last year in which they have been asked not to make any disbursement of funds for any purpose whatsoever to any other association until they adopt a resolution undertaking to implement the Lodha Committee reforms.
