New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS) Plato said that "nothing can be created, everything is just re-creation".

To conceptualise this state, Creativity Art Gallery in Hauz Khas has come up an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by contemporary masters.

The show titled, "Vision and Vista", curated by Shekhar Jhamb, is on till February 19.

The show puts forward the best senior contemporary artists from India -- Eva Maria Pacheco Ricote, Farhad Hussain, Gogi Saroj Pal, Samit Das, Sudip Roy, Ved Nayar, Vasundhara Tewari Broota, and Vinod Sharma.

They all have set milestones in their creative ventures and their canvases speak the true form of colour and their inheritances as well.

Eva Maria Pacheco Ricote is a Spanish artist and her works are based on spirituality as she is a PhD scholar and her research is a continuing process on her spiritual development through paintings and Raj yoga.

Farhad Hussain's paintings are a melange of vibrant colours. His works are based on the realities of human relationships and their subtle complexities.

The iconography of woman is an important feature of Gogi Saroj Pal's work and her images are not devoid of context.

Artist Samit Das creates multiple layers and remarkable forms using urban architecture as his points of reference and departure. He also builds interesting textures in his works, some tactile while others are only visual.

Sudip Roy's strength lies in his realistic rendering of everyday things in life. He takes inspiration from the people and objects that he sees around him.

In Ved Nayar's work, environment is the most outstanding feature.

In keeping with her growth as an artist, Vasundhara Tewari Broota's paintings have now evolved to encompass both the natural and human-made material world.

As an artist, Vinod Sharma is so much in love with the country's landscape. Standing amidst his work is like experiencing a gust of fresh mountain air.

"Vision and Vista" is expected to bring across the best collections of the said artists, to create a montage of artistic diversities.

"The art market today is challenging but, I feel encouraged to see enthusiasts showing interest in buying contemporary Indian art," Creativity Art Gallery Director Shekhar Jhamb told IANS.

"Showcasing the most innovative works by modern contemporary artists is like that edifice, where more and more art lovers not only unite to cherish creative expressions but also reciprocate it through their patronage," he said.

"Through this show we are targeting to perceive talents rather than investments," he added.
