Bodhisattva International Film Festival begins in Bihar
Patna, Feb 16 (IANS) Bodhisattva International Film Festival began here on Thursday, with 3,543 film entries from 122 countries received for the festival under Feature Film, Documentary and Shorts categories.

Bollywood actor-turned-politician Satrughann Sinha, popular Bhojpuri folk singer Sharda Sinha, Cinematographer & Producer Aseem Bajaj, Leena Yadav - Director of the opening film "Parched", Tannishtha Chatterjee - actress and Maharaja of Baroda Jeetendra Singh Gaekwad attended the inaugural function here.

Satrughan Sinha, affectionaly called "Bihari Babu", said: "I am delighted to be in my hometown and Bodhisattva International Film Festival has brought in a great platform to Bihar for cultural exchange through cinema."

 

Sneha Routray, President of the Grameen Sneh Foundation that has organised the film festival, said: "We have received hundreds of films, more than 100 movies to be screened and most of the films are from India, Iran, the USA, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Turkey, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Bangladesh, Canada, Portugal, Austria, Maxico, Poland, Australia and Indonesia, among others. Many small countries are participating for the first time."
