Chennai, Feb 16 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister elect E. Palaniswami, AIADMK Deputy General Secretary T.T.V. Dinakaran and other leaders on Thursday discussed government formation.
The leaders met at the Poes Garden residence of the late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
Palaniswami is expected to take oath as Chief Minister around 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, AIADMK legislators housed at a beach resort near here since last week will be returning to Chennai soon.
Minister for Milk and Dairy Development K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji told the media that Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao had saved democracy by inviting Palaniswamy to form a government.
He said the legislators will vacate the resort soon.
The Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha, M. Thambidurai, said Jayalalithaa's legacy will continue in the state.
AIADMK activists gathered outside the party headquarters and Poes Garden in Chennai and at the beach resort celebrated the Governor's decision to invite Palaniswami to form a new government.
