Los Angeles, Feb 15 (IANS) Actor James Spader, who is known for role in hit TV show "Boston Legal", says since childhood he has loved characters and loves to step outside his own and play other characters.
The actor currently plays the role of high-profile criminal-turned-FBI-informant Raymond "Red" Reddington in the TV show "The Blacklist" Season 4.
"Ever since I was a kid and just sort of playing around, you know, in the backyard or doing things at school, you know, I always sort of like stepping outside myself and, you know, playing characters," Spader said in a statement.
"I just loved characters and I think when I was first coming along and then first starting to actually earn a living as an actor, I found that to play character roles at that time and in the films that the opportunities that were presented to me, they're most sort of prevalent in those films as sort of the bad guy or very often I would be drawn towards a world that was very unfamiliar to me," he added.
Spader says these reasons could be what "led" him to "pursue some of the stranger things that I've done in my career or as you might have put".
The TV show airs on Star World and Star World HD on every Friday.
