Skomina to referee Real Madrid-Napoli tie
Madrid, Feb 13 (IANS) Slovenian Damir Skomina will officiate in Wednesday's first leg of the Champions League pre-quarterfinal between Real Madrid and Napoli, the European football governing body UEFA announced on Monday.

Skomina, who has been an international referee since 2003, has already refereed matches with Real Madrid in this championship last season in the second leg of the semi-finals against Manchester City. The Spanish club, coached by Zinedine Zidane, won and qualified for the final and claimed the title, reports Efe.

The Slovenian was also in charge of Real Madrid's Champions League games against Schalke 04 in the last 16 round, and Basel in the group round in the season of 2014-2015.

Skomina, who has been arbitrating matches in the Champions League since 2011, will be accompanied by Jure Praprotnik and Robert Vukan as assistant referees during Wednesday's clash.

Serbian Milorad Mazic will referee the Champions League match of last 16 round between Bayern Munich and Arsenal on Wednesday, and will have assistants Milovan Ristic and Dalibor Djurdjevic.
