New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) An array of delicacies has been spread out along with a huge collection of handicraft items from sarees, shawls to paintings and home decor accessories at the second edition of the "Hunar Haat" which began here on Saturday.

The event, initiated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs under the theme "Craft Aur Cuisine ka Sangam" has been organised to promote and provide artisans and craftpersons a platform to showcase their work.

For the first time in this exhibition, very exquisite pieces of handicraft and handloom work like Makrana marble products from Sikar, banjara embroidery from Telangana, phool patti works from Aligarh will be presented.

 

The event this year has more than 130 stalls where around 100 artisans and 30 culinary experts is participating.

"Craftspersons from all the corners of the country has participated in the event. This event will give the craftsmen to showcase their hard-work and skills. The artisans have not been charged for putting up their stalls here," Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Minority and Parliamentary Affairs said at the event.

The event, which is organised at the State Emporium Complex, Baba Kharak Singh Marg in the national capital will continue till February 26, 2017.
