Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 7 (IANS) Infighting in the Left-led Kerala government besides differences within the bureaucracy has hit governance, the Congress said on Tuesday.
The functioning of the government has come to a standstill with all round differences of opinion, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala told the media.
"The single biggest reason for this is on account of the serious differences between the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the Communist Party of India (CPI)," he said.
The issues related to the disclosure through RTI Act, Maoists and student protests, he said.
He said articles in the CPI's party organ released on Monday showed that things were not well between the CPI and CPI-M, which heads the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government. The CPI is the second largest group in LDF.
"Also, though the CPI-M claims that factional feuds are a thing of the past, every day (CPI-M leader) V.S. Achuthanandan has a different opinion to that of his government, besides the feud between the bureaucracy and the Vigilance department," Chennithala said.
This, he said, had dented the work of the government.
